Block 16. Calico puzzle.

I've had a hiccup - life gets in the way sometimes, haven't posted for a while but I have continued with my blocks.
This one is Calico puzzle.   Now the question is - should I start putting them together yet or wait until they are all finished??????

The Farmer's Wife Quilt

...............a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step................!

I bought this lovely book, The Farmer's Wife sampler Quilt by Laurie Aaron Hird and it has given me the inspiration I need to start on a new project.

The book comes complete with a CD of all the templates that are needed to make the quilt.   One tiny criticism of the book is that each tiny template prints on a whole sheet of paper. (My rudimentary computing skills are not up to transferring more than one of them onto a sheet and at the same time retain the correct size - you may be able to do this easily!!!!)   Now I have printed out and transferred each shape onto template plastic - so it's time to start.  I have gathered together enough of my fabric stash to complete all the blocks so that I can mix and match fabric throughout.    WISH ME LUCK!
I am going to add a photo of each block I finish  -  so watch this space!

Enchantment fabric by Lonni Rossi.

I was lucky enough to be able to buy the shop sample packs for this gorgeous Lonni Rossi fabric, the grey/yellow and the pink/purple. It is really lovely fabric and great quality.   So what to make!  I have two bedrooms with single beds crying out for a quilt each - so that is the plan.  It will have to be machine made - I am already in the process of making a quilt by hand - so these two will have to be super quick to make.   Fortunately the fabric will do the the talking, it is so pretty with just a glint of gold.
